Todays EarthQuake in New Zealand

Occurrence of earth quake is quite common in New Zealand but today's earth quake reminded me of Mayan calender, Egyptian theory, galactic alignment, geomagnetic axis reversal, solar storm in and around sun etc. etc. All these conditions are somehow linked to 21st Dec. 2012. What are your views of that. Many renowned speakers and statesmaen are saying that it is not about the end of the world but it is about transformation from one dimension to another. It is about a complete paradigm shift. I am not an expert on this but I was wondering what Vedas say about 21st Dec 2012? Well, I am starting my research today and let me know if you come accross any material on this subject in Vedas.
